Disc Brake Wheels
- Slide the wheel into the fork/frame dropouts
- Align the disc rotor with the brake caliper
- Tighten the thru-axle to the manufacturer's specified torque (typically 12-15 Nm)
- Spin the wheel to check for brake rub — adjust caliper if needed
- Check that the wheel is centered in the frame
Rim Brake Wheels
- Open the brake quick-release
- Slide the wheel into the dropouts
- Tighten the quick-release skewer or thru-axle
- Close the brake quick-release
- Check wheel alignment and brake pad contact
